Abstract
The research was conducted in 2002–2004 to investigate the influence of various doses of nitrogen and potassium fertilization on the nutrition of Gomphrena globosa L. cultivated in greenhouse. A significant increase of total nitrogen and nitrates content in the leaves was observed when higher doses of nitrogen were applied, regardless of the used potassium fertilization. Furthermore, the levels of phosphorus and potassium in the leaves decreased with higher doses of
nitrogen. High doses of nitrogen, however, had no significant effect on magnesium, chlorine and sulphur content in the leaves. The research indicates that potassium chloride is more useful to Gomphrena cultivation than potassium sulphate and potassium nitrate.
