Abstract

The selection of cultivars and agrotechnical factors affect the growth, size and quality of grain yield of cereals, so they can also shape the ARs content in spring triticale grains. The aim of the research was to determine the effect of nitrogen fertilization levels (0, 70 and 100 kg kg.ha-1) on ARs content in grain of four spring triticale cultivars under conditions of two cultivation systems (plough and ploughless). The conducted research indicates that the ARs content  in the grains of spring triticale is a trait strongly determined genetically, but it also depends on weather conditions, nitrogen fertilization and the tillage system. Fertilization with 100 kg.ha-1 nitrogen promotes the accumulation of ARs in spring triticale grains, especially under conditions of higher precipitation in April and May. Under conditions of limited precipitation during tillering and the onset of stem shooting (April) and earing, the ARs content is similar for both 100 and 70 kg.ha-1 nitrogen fertilization treatments. The Puzon and Sopot spring triticale cultivars fertilized with 100 kg.ha-1 nitrogen and grown under ploughing conditions may be particularly useful for the production of health-promoting foods with high ARs content.
