Variation of fielding traits of buckwheat variety Kora and forms Red corolla and Samokończąca

Abstract

Buckwheat is a species of high interspecies variability, which is a condition to obtain a high yield. Variability of the yielding traits in the variety Kora and forms Red corolla and Samo- kończąca was tested in 2007–2013. It was found that the variety Kora was characterized by lower variability than Red corolla and Samokończąca forms. The greatest variability was characterized by the following features: the weight of seeds per plant, the number of seeds per plant and the plant weight. The most stable features are the number of nodes on the main stem, seat height and inflorescence, flowering zone length, height and MTN. The lowest value of the coefficients of variation occurred for MTN – from 12.2% in the variety Kora to 19.6% in the form of Samokoń- cząca. The highest variability was characteristic of the weight and the number of seeds per plant – from 61.9% and 64% in the Kora varieties to 82.1% and 86.1% in the form of Samokończąca. The highest correlation coefficients were obtained between the number and weight of seeds per plant and between the number of seeds and the number of inflorescences (variety Kora r = 0.94 and r = 0.64, the form of Red corolla r = 0.54 and r = 0.46, form Samokończąca r = 0.46 and r = 0.46).
