Prevalence of cysticercosis in cattle and pigs in the Lublin province in the years 1993–2004

Abstrakt

Between 1993 and 2004 cysticercosis caused by Cysticercus bovis was found in 1531 (0.218%) animals of 700 927 heads of cattle slaughtered in the Lublin province. That particular cysticercosis was observed each year. During the period 1993–2004 cysticercosis caused by Cysticercus
cellulosae was found in only a few pigs (18 cases – 0.0025% of 7 018 273 examined pigs).
