At great variety of ploughshares construction there is a lack of reliable indexes to comparing their wear resistance. It was proved that the results of estimation using the parameter created on the ground of change in a contour and durability of parts are more precise than these results obtained using the unit mass wear, i.e. the index including both the loss of mass and durability of ploughshares. It was found that the results of estimation obtained with the use of both mentioned indexes differ even 1.8 times. Reason arises from the different wearing process of ploughshares following working conditions and constructional features that influence differences in absolute mass wear of ploughshares.
