The experiment estimating the influence of mulching (pine bark, peat, sawdust) on vegetative growth of three highbush blueberry cultivar (Bluecrop, Northland, Spartan) was carried out in 1997–2000. Pine bark and peat mulch created better conditions for plants in comparison with sawdust. The greatest height of plants and length of lateral shoots were on control plot and the greatest number of lateral shoots was on plots where peat mulch was used.
