Abstract

The aim of the study conducted in 2010, in the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin (north-western Poland), was to determine the composition of the essential oil, hexane and ethanol extracts obtained from the herb of salad burnet (Sanguisorba minor Scop.) by GC/MS method. The investigated material consisted of two-year-old plants. The major compounds were: nerol, geraniol, phytol (in the essential oil), 13-methylhentriacontane, palmitic acid, phytol and vitamin E (in the ethanol extract) and 3-methyltritriacontane, 11-methylhentriacontane, tritriacontane and γ-sitosterol (in the hexane extract).
