The purpose of studies was biology of blooming, pollen grain morphology and results of 2DE analysis of pollen coat and pollen protoplast proteins of self incompatible and compatible Secale cereale lines. In the examined plants the structure of anther was typical of the Poaceae family. In the anther Ls225 and Ls193 between pollen grains the presence of a substance similar to the leftovers of tapetum cytoplasm was observed. On the stigma of the examined rye plants, relatively large amounts of pollen was situated, but one could observe a kind of diversity in the degree of stigma pollination depending on the examined line. The greatest amount of pollen deposition was found on the Amilo, Kier Ls193 and Ls225 stigmas. Summing up, the research concerning pollination in selfcompatible and selfincompatible forms of S. cereale shows that the plants of both forms produce o lot of viable pollen, the pollination of the stigma is abundant but it differs in the placing of pollen grains on the surface of the stigmas and there are no significant difference in ultrastructural pictures of sporoderm of pollen grains of both forms.
