Abstrakt

The content of 29 bio-elements (Al, As, B, Ba, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Ge, Hg, I, K, Li, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Ni, P, Pb, S, Se, Si, Sn, Sr, V, Zn) was studied in hair samples of 44 Purebred Arabian horses aged 4–15 years, staying in the same husbandry and feeding conditions. The method of atomic emission measurement with optic spectroscopy technique was used. Many significant interactions between particular bio-elements were found. Assessment of the elements' level in the hair may be useful to evaluate the mineral status of horses' organism in precise but non-invasive way, which may give information about their health state. A very low level of toxic elements in the hair of studied horses was stated.
