Wpływ dodatku chelatów mineralnych w mieszankach dla rosnących świń na wzrost i składniki krwi

Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the impact of chelate preparation “BIOMAX” added to the full feed mixtures for growing and finishing pigs on their growth contents of some selected
minerals and biochemical blood parameters. The experiment was carried out on 60 growing pigs (Polish Lantraces x Polish Large) x Pietrain, divided randomly into 2 groups. The animals of group I (control) were fed with standard mixtures proper to their age (PW, PT–1 and PT–2), in which the mineral elements (Zn, Cu, Mn, Fe and Co) of premix were in the form of salts. In group II (experimental), chelate “BIOMAX” additive into the above-mentioned mixture was given, including Zn, Cu, Mn, Fe and Co chelats. The animals were weighed at the beginning, then at about 25 and 65 body mass and finally before the slaughter feed intake was controlled. Blood samples were collected twice (at about 40 and 100 kg body mass), and the content of total protein, glucose, total cholesterol, triglicerides, HDL and LDL cholesterol fraction were analyzed. The samples of blood plasma were also analyzed to determine the content of calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, copper, manganese and phosphorus. The supplementation of the diets with minerals such as zinc, copper, manganese, iron and cobalt in chelate form of “BIOMAX” contributed to a better body mass gains and feed utilization. The “BIOMAX” application led to a significant increase of copper, manganese and zinc content in pigs’ blood plasma; however, it did not significantly influence the calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron content or the biochemical indices of blood. The obtained results in the growing and finishing pigs confirm the justification of chelate preparation additive to the standard full mixture in the amounts recommended in the regulation of UE, Nr 1334/2003.
