Yielding of chicory (Cichorium intybus L. var. foliosum Bisch.) cultivated at several dates

Ewa Rożek

Abstract

In experiments conducted in the years 2004–2005, the influence of the seedling planting date on the yield of 3 chicory cultivars was evaluated. Transplants were planted on 20 April, 5 and 20 May, 5 June, 15 July and 3 August with the spacing of 30 × 30 cm (‘Indigo’, ‘Leonardo’) and 30 × 35 cm (‘Uranus’). Depending on the planting date, the marketable yield was 25.5–51.0 t·ha–1 of the radicchio type and 57.6–97.2 t·ha–1 in the ‘Uranus’ cultivar.
