In the years 2003–2004, 1350 ha area of the Bystra Note River valley was investigated. This area constitutes part of the wildfowl sanctuary called (Note River Marshy Meadows) which, because of its considerable biodiversity, is proposed to be placed under legal protection in the form of a reserve called (Romanowo-Radolin Marshy Meadow). The aim of the studies was to recognise and characterise eight seminatural communities and their landscape and aesthetic role. Phytosociological surveys were taken using the Braun-Blanquet method. Two computer programs were employed: TURBOVEG 9.38 and TWINSPAN [Hill 1992]. The nomenclature and syntaxonomic division of associations was adopted after Matuszkiewicz [2002]. Seminatural communities were allocated into the following two classes: Molinio-Arrhenatheretea R.Tx. 1937 in which four associations and two communities were distinguished, and Koelerio glaucae-Corynephoreta canescentis with two communities.
