In the paper the results of a three-year field trial performed at the Agricultural Station of University of Wroclaw in a 10–12-year old winter rape monoculture are presented. Two factors of the experiment were examined: varying pre-sowing tillage (a – ploughing to a depth of 20 cm, 2 – ploughing to a depth of 30 cm) and different methods of post-harvest tillage (1 – conventional tillage, 2 – ploughed down stubble crop, 3 – conventional tillage + herbicide, 4 – without postharvest tillage + herbicide, 5 – without post-harvest tillage and no herbicide treatment). The aim of the study was to examine the influence of different methods of post-harvest and pre-sowing soil tillage on the growth and yielding of spring rape. It was found that pre-sowing ploughing to a depth 20 cm compared to ploughing to 30 cm, increased seed, straw and fat yields of spring rape. Conventional tillage and herbicide was the most profitable tillage treatment for spring rape.
