A qualitative and quantitative analysis of the distribution and use of genetic resources collected at the National Centre for Plant Genetic Resources in the period 01 January, 2007 to 15 August, 2017 was carried out. There were 297 unique recipients identified, to whom 11,323 accessions samples were distributed, out of 456 taxa. The largest share was made by researchers (52% of all receipts, 68% of all samples distributed). The next largest groups were individual recipients (20%, 14%, respectively) and breeding (13%, 10%, respectively). These three groups constituted a total of 85% of the recipients and acquired 92% of the samples. The other groups, i.e. education, gene banks, botanic gardens and others, represented totally 15% of the recipients and took 8% of the samples. The number of individual consumers is increasing, which may help to inhibit the genetic erosion but it increases the exploitation of resources in the gene bank.
