Abstract
Numerous crosses between dwarf lines with the dominant dwarfing gene Dw6 and tall cultivars and lines resulted in 147 seeds representing 17 F1 hybrid combinations. Dwarf phenotype of six F1 hybrids confirmed their origin. The hybrid status of the remaining combinations was confirmed with the ISSR method. The ISSRs identified high polymorphism and proved to be efficient and successful for the identification of oat hybrids. Moreover, out of 150 obtained polymorphic ISSR fragments only one (SR-37970) was amplified in all the analyzed dwarf genotypes. This product was not amplified in tall cultivars and lines. The selected fragment, after conversion into SCAR, could be a potential marker for dwarfing gene Dw6.
