Abstract
The interspecific hybrids F3 Avena sativa L. × Avena sterilis L. and maternal varieties were the subject of this research. The RAPD method was used for the confirmation of the hybrid nature of the cross progeny. All genotypes were estimated with regard to the cytogenetic stability. Chromosome behavior at metaphase I and anaphase I, frequency of micronuclei in tetrads and pollen viability were studied. No serious disturbances during conjugation and segregation of the chromosomes or tetrad formation in hybrids were observed. Pollen viability of the analyzed hybrid combinations was over 98%. High hybrids differentiation regarding most of the analyzed yielding traits allows to select the valuable genotypes for oat breeding.
