The objective of a three-year-long field experiment located on silt-loam soil was to study the effects of the method of plantation establishment and foliar fertilizer Resistim application on Thymus vulgaris L. yields and quality. In the experiment there were compared two methods of plantation establishment (seeds sowing and transplanting seedlings formerly produced in multicells) as well as effects of Resistim (1.5%) spraying performed three times a year. The obtained results indicate that for thyme plantation establishment transplants produced earlier in multicells should be used on lessive soils. On the other hand, seed sowing was connected with unequal plants distribution and, as a result, it decreased both yields and quality of raw material gathered. Spraying with Resistim positively affected morphological parameters and yields of thyme and could be recommended on commercial plantations of this species.
