The susceptibility of 766 rye genotypes to brown rust infestation (Puccinia recondita f. sp. secalis) was evaluated in a greenhouse experiment. The research material encompassed or include a collection of breading materials of Department of Genetics, Plant Breeding and Seed Production of the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław. Genotypes came from the: DANKO Plant Breeding sp. z o.o. (branches in Choryń-Kościan, Laski, Sobiejuchy), Smolice Plant Breeding, Poznań Plant Breeding, and materials developed in the Department of Genetics, Plant Breeding and Seed Production of the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław. Valuation of the degree of plant infestation by disease was based on a four-stage scale. The examined genotypes displayed a statistically significant difference in terms of brown rust infection. Statistically significant differences were also observed between the mean values of brown rust infection in particular groups of origin. The highest mean brown rust infection was observed in genotypes from Sobiejuchy, while the lowest in Wrocław.
