The purpose of the research was to compare the economic and production results in the group of field crops (plant farms) and three types of animal farms with a similar area of agricultural land in the Mazovia and Podlasie region. The studies showed that plant farms are less economically viable. They are characterized by lower total land productivity despite lower production costs per hectare of UR. The income on these holdings is by % lower than in animal farms, while the income converted into full-time farmer’s family was 87% of the income generated by members of animal farms. The analysis also showed variation in the economic performance of a given group of livestock farms.
