The field experiment was carried out in 2002–2006 on lessive soil of granulometric strong loamy sand granulation composition. The influence of foliar fertilization using Alkalin PK 5 : 25 and Ekolist S on the yielding and quality of rods of three willow genotypes (Salix purpurea, S. daphnoides, S. purpurea × S. daphnoides) was examined. The fertilizers were applied twice during willow vegetation in the middle and at the end of May. The applied experimental factors significantly affected the yields of tested willows rods. The best yield-forming effects were achieved due to foliar application of Alkalin PK 5 : 25. Foliar fertilization slightly influenced the physical parameters of willow rods as well as the percentage of core in transverse rod section. Among the three tested willow genotypes, Salix purpurea was distinguished by the best usefulness for plait-working. It was characterized by high yields, and almost completely formed straight rods of the 1st quality class as well as the highest percentage of medium rods.
