In 2005–2006 at the Experimental Station of Pomology Department, University of Agriculture in Szczecin in Rajkowo, a vegetation experiment was carried out. The aim of the studies was to assess the physiological reaction of plants to foliar application of potassium – silicon fertilizer (Potassium Alkaline with silicon). Strawberry variety Senga Sengana was chosen as the biological material for the studies. The following parameters of the investigated variety were determined: content of assimilation pigment (chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, total chlorophyll and carotenoids), quantity and area of the leaves. No significant influence of foliar application of potassium Alkaline with silicon on the content of chlorophyll a, b, total chlorophyll and carotenoids in leaves was observed. Foliar nutrition did not significantly influence the total size of the assimi-lation surface of leaves of an individual plant and the surface of an individual leaf. The plants to which foliar nutrition was applied and the control plants were also characterized by a similar number of leaves.
