Abstract

The objective of a three-year-long field experiment located on siltloam soil was to study the effects of the date of plantation establishment and Asahi SL (Atonik SL) application on Mentha × piperita Lyields and quality. In the experiment there were compared two dates of plantation establishment and or rejuvenating ploughing (autumn – IX and spring – IV) as well as Asahi SL (0.1%) spraying performed twice a year. The results obtained indicate that both the compared dates of plantation establishment or rejuvenating ploughing could be used. Natural growth regulator – Asahi SL application affects both volatile oil content and yield increase and could be recommended in peppermint cultivation.
