During the period 2014–2016 a field experiment was conducted under the soil and climatic conditions prevailing in the Municipality of Niemce (the central Lublin region) to determine the effect of farming systems (conventional and organic) and three foliar biopreparations (Herbagreen Basic, Bio-algeen, EM Farming) on the yield and raw material quality of chamomile. Plant height and the number of inflorescences per plant, the total raw material yield as well as essential oil and flavonoid content in the raw material were determined. It was proved that traditional cultivation (conventional system) of chamomile contributed to an improvement in the biometric characteristics and increased productivity of this plant, but also stimulated an improvement in the quality characteristics of raw material obtained compared to the organic system. The biopreparations had a small effect on the characteristics analyzed. A trend of beneficial effect on the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of chamomile was observed in the case of the growth stimulator Bio-algeen. The foliar fertilizer Herbagreen Basic, and in particular Effective Microorganisms (EM Farming), had a neutral or negative effect on the analyzed parameters of chamomile.
