Ecological methods of agricultural pest control in agrophytocoenoses, which involve intercrops, sowing weed-competitive cultivars and using integrated plant protection, promote the conservation of rural ecosystems. The research results show that the above-mentioned agronomic practices can effectively reduce the incidence of weeds in agricultural plant communities, while at the same time not decreasing their biological diversity. They reduce the occurrence of dominant cosmopolitan taxa by decreasing their number below the economic harmfulness threshold. The effectiveness of their operation depends on many habitat and agrotechnical factors, such as the soil type, weather conditions, cultivar species, crop rotation, type of intercrop and the method of its management. The production technology taking into account the aforementioned, environmentally friendly methods of reducing the presence of pests is aimed at the symbiosis of production and ecological objectives.
