Potencjał fitoterapeutyczny wybranych gatunków z rodzaju Satureja (Lamiaceae)

Abstrakt

Gatunki z rodzaju Satureja znane są głównie jako aromatyczne rośliny przyprawowe. Badania naukowe prowadzone w ostatnich latach wykazują ścisły związek pomiędzy substancjami aktywnymi cząbru (olejek eteryczny, związki fenolowe, garbniki, flawonoidy) a aktywnością przeciwdrobnoustrojową, przeciwutleniającą, przeciwzapalną, przeciwbólową i przeciwskurczową surowca oraz produkowanych z niego ekstraktów. Mechanizmy działania związków aktywnych cząbru nie zostały do końca poznane. Materiałem do przyszłych badań są liczne gatunki z tego rodzaju, różnorodne pod względem morfologicznym, chemicznym i pod względem aktywności biologicznej. Istniejące wyniki badań nad cząbrem oraz rodzime tradycje medyczne pozwalają uznać cząber za perspektywiczne źródło substancji aktywnych przydatnych dla receptury ziołowej.
