Abstract
A field study upon foliage nutrition of Virginia tobacco (Wiślica cv.) was carried out in 2001–2003. The influence of different doses of Tytoń-Vit fertilizer, which was applied separately and in combinations with urea, on the yields, leaf quality, and market value was evaluated. In particular treatments, fertilizers were applied only once (growth beginning – stem formation), twice (additional spraying 2 weeks before the first harvest), and three times during vegetation period (additional spraying after the second harvest). The results indicated the necessity of tobacco foliar fertilization with the tested fertilizers. An especially positive effect on leaf yields and quality was recorded in the treatment with double application of both fertilizers and with triple application only with Tytoń-Vit nutrition.
