Field experiment was carried out in years 2011–2013 at the Research Centre of Variety Evaluation in Nowy Lubliniec. The aim of the studies was to specify the reaction of two varieties of narrow-leafed lupin to various sowing rates. A crop stand of 1 m2 after sprouting and before crops was considerably bigger on objects with increased standard of seed placement. The time when plants started particular developmental stages was different in various research years. The height of the first fruit bearing fork increased with the increase of plant density in the field. LAI indicator was considerably higher on objects with recommended standard of seed placement in comparison with the object with 50% increased standard. SPAD indicator was not considerably different. The increase of the amount of seed placement considerably diminished the amount of pods on the plant but did not modify the amount of seeds in a pod. Placement standard 50% higher in comparison with the recommended standard considerably increased WTS. Various amounts of seed placement did not influence considerably the average crop and the basic chemical composition of seeds. Intervarietal differentiation of most evaluated parameters was confirmed.
