Hunting damages caused in plantations and crops are problems for both farmers and institutions responsible for paying compensation. Due to a number of factors, such as the increase in the population of deer species, foraging preferences and the evolution of their behavior due to human activity or changes in agriculture, this problem will increase and be a challenge for both sides. Roe deer, with the current estimated number of about 891 thousand individuals in Poland, are a territorial species and a species that selects high-quality forage, which makes them (along with other deer) a great threat to raspberry plantations, especially in Poland, which is the market leader in the European Union. The aim of the article was to systematize information on the method of valuation of hunting damages in raspberry crops in accordance with the applicable legal status, along with emphasizing the characteristics of roe deer and raspberries, which have a direct impact on this type of damages. The conclusions emphasized that a reliable valuation of hunting damage, based on agricultural knowledge and experience of the estimators, will allow to limit conflicts between farmers and institutions responsible for paying compensation. However, it is equally important to plan and take effective preventive methods to protect raspberry plantations from damages caused by game hunting animals and to initiate cooperation between the partie of conflicts.
