Innovative material and construction solutions improve agricultural machines, develop their market and enable the introduction of new technologies to field crop production. The growing interest of agricultural science and practice in strip tillage with simultaneous application of fertilisers and sowing of seeds authorizes research on the design of working elements of the strip-till one-pass cultivation machine, adapting them to work in the soil and climatic conditions of Poland and Central and Eastern Europe. As a result of industrial research and development work, the shape of the cultivation-application tines and seeding coulters of the Mzuri hybrid machine was changed. The surface of the elements working in the soil has been hardened by hardfacing with sintered carbide in order to improve the machine's operating parameters compared to a standard machine. The effect of the introduced changes was a reduction in diesel oil consumption by 3.4–3.8 dm3 ha–1 and carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere by 9.3–10.5 kg CO2 ha–1 in the technology of cultivation of winter wheat, winter rapeseed, spring barley, peas and maize. Design changes to the working elements increased the efficiency of the 4 m working width machine by 28.8% and of the 6 m working width machine by 34.0% compared to the standard machine.
