Abstract

In the years 2005–2006 the occurrence of lamberquarters on ecological cereal seed crops was examined. The collected seed material was analysed in terms of the number of Chenopodium album diaspores. The diaspores were subjected to germination. It was found that the best conditions for germination were: 7 days of prechilling, constant temperature 20°C and light. Bas-ing on observations in greenhouse conditions it was proved that the phase of flowering of Chenopodium album started after approximately 49 to 65 days from the beginning of germination. The phase of fruiting began after around 30 days from the beginning of flowering. Flowering of lam-berquarters started independently of the height of plant. The germination conditions had no impact on the number of diaspores harvested by an adult individual. Approximately 40% of seeds yielded by one individual may germinate directly after ripening.
