The aim of the research was to compare the production and economic effects of two winter rye production technologies. The study was based on the results of field experiments carried out in two growing seasons (2018/2019 and 2019/2020). This experiments were carried out at the Agricultural Experimental Station in Wielichowo, belonging to the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation – State Research Institute in Pulawy (Poland). The conducted research made it possible to determine the economic efficiency indicators for winter rye depending on the production technology used (intensive and integrated). The technologies differed in the degree of consumption of the means of production. Two varieties of winter rye were selected for the study: ‘KWS Bono’ (hybrid variety) and ‘Horyzo’ (population variety). The conducted research shows that the intensity level of winter rye production technology had a significant impact on the yield of the varieties. It was also shown that the level of production intensity determined the amount of direct costs, as well as the profitability of production in a given technology. The lowest production costs were found with the integrated technology, when sowing the population variety of rye – ‘Horyzo’. It was found that despite the higher grain yields using the intensive technology, the integrated technology proved to be more cost-effective.
