A field experiment was established in 2003–2004 at Uhrusk Experimental Station of Lublin Agricultural University. The experiment was conducted in a randomized block design with 10 m2 plots in 4 replications. The grey-brown rendzina soil, formed from light loam, weak sandy, was classified into a very good rye complex. The experiment concerned four forecrops for hard wheat: pea, potato, hard wheat (1x), hard wheat (2x). Cultivation of hard wheat after pea and potato increase the yield of grain, number of heads per 1 m2, mass of grains per head, content of total protein in grain, gluten wet, sedimentation value and grain uniformity in realation to hard wheat (2x) were studied.
